Debt keeps man out of the bar

The Law Librarian Blog brings this tale of how a law grad seeking admissions to the New York State Bar has been declined because of his outstanding amount of debt.

WHAT?, you say

I know many of you probably have lots of debt but this guy had over $400,000 in debt and the Court felt he didn't have the general character and fitness for an attorney. I know, knowing how some attorneys can be one has to wonder how low that bar really is but nonetheless Mr. Bowman appears to be sitting this one out for now.

Just say no (unless you are too far gone)

What's that, you want to be a lawyer?

This page gives a humorous (but all too truthful IMO) rendition of 8 reasons not to go to lawschool.

Noise

For those of you who have been chased out of the library due to noise over the past few weeks I offer the good news that the constuction and installation of the new windows is done and we should be back to our quiet ways to facilitate your studying for the bar.
